Two-Alarm House Fire Breaks Out In Area

A late-afternoon, two-alarm house fire broke out on the third story of a residence in the area.

It happened just before 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28 in Mahopac on Nicole Way.

The blaze brought a full response from the Mahopac Fire Department with mutual aid from Mahopac Falls, Yorktown and Croton Falls fire departments and NYSE&G, as stations that were responding were covered by other neighboring departments. 

 Chief Bill Nikisher was Incident Command and positioned the Ladder Company in the driveway of the home to access the third story. 

Carmel Police responded with multiple units. Mahopac EMS was on location.

The fire was brought under control and no injuries were reported. 

The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
